This Privacy Policy explains how Teacher’s Pet AI (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites and services for educators, tutors, and homeschooling parents (the “Services”). Our Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Overview
We collect the minimum personal information needed to operate and improve the Services. Our users may input classroom-related content, including names or support needs; users are responsible for only submitting what they are authorized to provide. We discourage uploading unnecessary personal data.
We are not a school or district vendor; we do not claim a “school official” role and do not rely on FERPA. Our focus is adult users (teachers, tutors, parents). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details (name, email, password (stored hashed), role/class info).
- Content you submit (curricula, units, lessons, notes, uploads, student information you choose to enter—names/initials, support needs, progress notes).
- Communication with us (support requests, feedback).
Information collected automatically
- Log and diagnostic data (IP address, timestamps, referrer, device/browser/OS, language).
- Usage data (feature interactions, in-app events) for reliability and product improvement.
- Cookie/SDK data as described in Cookies & Analytics.
Information from third parties
- Authentication providers (to sign you in).
- Payment processors (billing status; we do not store full card numbers).
- Analytics partners (aggregated metrics about site/app usage).
How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services (contract necessity).
- Create lesson plans, quizzes, and related materials per your inputs and settings.
- Improve reliability, performance, and user experience (legitimate interests).
- Security, fraud prevention, misuse detection (legitimate interests/legal obligations).
- Communications about service updates; with your consent, marketing emails (you can opt out anytime).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
AI & Your Content
We process your inputs (prompts, notes, uploads) to generate outputs (“artifacts”) like lesson plans and quizzes. These artifacts are stored in your account so you can view, edit, and export them unless you delete them.
- No generalized model training: we do not use your content to train models that serve other customers.
- No opt-in program at this time: if we introduce one in the future, we will request explicit consent first.
- Quality & safety: we may use aggregated or de-identified data to improve reliability and safety.
Payments
We use a third-party payment processor to handle transactions. We receive limited billing metadata (e.g., status, last 4 digits) and do not store full card numbers. The payment processor handles payment information in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege practices, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure; please use strong, unique passwords and keep your credentials safe.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep account and content data while your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we may retain it in a limited “soft-deleted” state for a short period (e.g., up to 30 days) for recovery, security, and abuse prevention. Aggregated analytics may persist.
You can request permanent deletion by emailing hello@teacherspet.ai. We will verify your identity and delete within a reasonable time unless retention is required by law.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (e.g., marketing emails, analytics cookies).

Legal bases we rely on (where applicable): contract (to provide the Services), legitimate interests (improve and secure the Services), consent (marketing emails, analytics cookies), and legal obligation.
International Data Transfers
We process data primarily in the United States. Where required (e.g., EU/UK users), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers to service providers outside your jurisdiction.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective” date shows when the latest version took effect. We’ll notify you of material changes as required (for example, by email or in-app notice).
